Paul takes the Corinthians back to the wilderness to remind them that Israel had their own baptism and communion, and most of them still fell to idolatry, immorality, and grumbling. Before we get to arrogant, though, thinking it won’t happen to us, remember these stories were written for our benefit. But we have a strong foundation: God is faithful, He won’t let us be pushed past what we can bear, and He always makes a way through.
